A Child Version of Leonardo Da Vinci

When Gwen was still 4 years old, she was happy already if we gave her a bunch of crayons, coloring books, drawing papers, drawing books, sketch pads, pencils, water colors and anything she could use to draw and paint.

She was not fond of having new dresses or stuffs like that.  I remember one time when I gave her a red dress as a pasalubong from Davao City, her reaction was just a shrug on her shoulder.  The result was she led me to a nearby store to buy some crayons and bond papers.

In fact, when her ninang Jean Dalagan Magbalot asked us what things she could buy for Gwen as her Christmas gift, we told her that she would be happy of anything that comes from a bookstore.  Thus, she gave a book and I guess some coloring books too which Gwen treasures them up to this time.

When we resided in Midsayap, North Cotabato in 2011, there was a summering program offered by some local artist there for the children aged 3 and up who would like to learn the basic of sketching, drawing and coloring.  Thus, we enrolled Gwen there which she readily acceded. By that time, Gwen was already 6 years old and she was the youngest of her batch.

Here are the pictures how Gwen did and progressed in the said Art Summer Program in Midsayap, North Cotabato.

This is the finale of her work art.  She calls this as Hello Kitty.  It is framed and is now hanged on our wall
Today when you would ask her what she would like to be in the future.  She would readily answer you that she dreams to work as a Doctor doing Fashion Designing on her spare time.

We hope to see our future Dr. Gwyneth L. Mante in the future staging her Fashion Collection not only in the Philippines but abroad someday.
